Lab Services Q&A

What are lab services?

Lab services include diagnostic tests that screen for common medical concerns. They include urine testing, blood tests, saliva testing, nasal or throat swabs, biopsies, and more. The All Valley Urgent Care specialists use lab testing to diagnose an injury, illness, or disease and effectively treat it to reduce the chance of complications.

The practice also offers drug and alcohol screening when needed during work, school, or sports physicals.

Are lab services right for me?

Your All Valley Urgent Care provider lets you know which lab services you’re a candidate for after checking your vital signs and reviewing your symptoms, medical history, medications, and lifestyle. They also complete a physical exam to look for visible signs of medical problems before recommending lab testing or other diagnostic tests.

What should I expect from lab services?

During lab testing at All Valley Urgent Care, your provider might take a sample of your blood or ask you to leave a urine sample. They may take a saliva sample or swab the inside of your nose or throat. During a biopsy, they remove a tiny portion of your skin or other tissues to use for lab analysis. On-site X-rays screen for fractures, respiratory infections, and more.

What happens after my lab tests?

After your urgent care specialist receives the results of your on-site lab tests, which may be during your appointment, later the same day, or the next day, they review them with you.

If you need treatment, your specialist might recommend home remedies, rest, over-the-counter medicines, prescription medications, injections, other in-office procedures, or additional treatments that help you feel better and minimize the risk of complications.
